X is for X-hausted

Posted on Monday, 28 April 2014

Mum and me both! We've been X-tra busy getting every thing ready for the new baby and the big house move which has been very X-hilarating but also very X-hausting

We're just three days away from surviving the challenge and our imagination has all but X-pired. We've been thinking about the letter 'X' for a good month now but always stuggled to X-ecute the perfect theme. We can't say we were X-actly X-cited about having to come up with a post for this day.

But it's here now, and like X-perts, we've managed to have a little fun with it by X-ploring 'put-together' words.

It's also Monday Mischief blog hop day hosted by Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Alfie’s Blog and My Brown Newfies. The only mischief I caused was the other morning... It was raining and my bladder was about to X-plode and I really really did not want to get wet... So I pee'd in the utility room. Oops! Sorry mum!

Well... We've really X-celled ourselves! Even if it was a little X-cessive and X-treme :P

Time for us to make an X-it... Annddd X-hale :)

Follow-Up Sunday

Posted on Sunday, 27 April 2014

It's Sunday which means we get a get a day off from the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. In fact, it's our LAST Sunday off as the challenge ends on Wednesday! After that, these Follow-Up posts will go back to being posted on Fridays.

This post generally wraps up the week by responding to your comments and questions that have been left on our posts over the past week :)

R is for Reptiles - 21 April 2014

Harleo - Adventures of Two Golden Doodles said: Now Bernie - you taught me lots today. I would have never guessed that bearded dragons responded to their names! I found the entire post - fascinating. Don't get it twisted, I still love reading about you :) but I enjoyed learning something about reptiles. It was an added bonus to this blogging challenge.

I couldn't not feature those little critters in my challenge really. I love those little guys, they really are quite smart - they let you know when they want to come out the vivarium for some adventure time too. Dad will take them out and let them run around the floor with me. Brian will try to jump on my head to dominate me but she never succeeds. If they run and hide under the sofa or the cupboards I will lie in front of their chosen hideout to let mum know where they've disappeared too. I'm like a Bearded Dragon babysitter really lol.

S is for Seaside - 22 April 2014

Arran in Focus said: Both my dogs love the beach, swimming in the sea, long runs on the sand and of course grinding into dead seabirds!

Oh yes! How could I forget dead seabirds! I have to admit I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to water so it takes a lot of encouragement from mum to get me to dip my toes in the sea. When I get caught by a small wave I just panic and freeze! I'm getting better though!

SlimDoggy said: Lots of "S" words today - I think I like the sunset the best.

That's our favourite photo out of the bunch too. Dad actually took that one on his camera phone as we completely forgot to take the good camera with us. We're really impressed with how it came out. 'S' day was an easy one for us, unlike R, Q, U, V. We're dreading the 'X' post tomorrow - we have no idea what to blog about!

T is for Tricks - 23 April 2014

BichonFrise Ted said: That's fab! I would say my fave is roll over I do it whenever I want something even when not asked just to see if it will work and I get what I wanted :D sneaky! X x

Wow, I'm jealous Ted! That's an awesome trick to know! I can't do roll over... I'm like a beetle - I get stuck on my back lol x

Andrea @ This Pug Life said: I'm impressed! And you have some huge "guns" in that high-five photo.

Well hello fellow squishy faced friend! I've been working out recently ;) I'm glad to hear it's paying off lol

U is for Unleashed - 24 April 2014

M. K. Clinton said: Great info! As much as Bentley and I love each other, I simply cannot let him off lead. He has free run in the privacy fenced backyard. Being a Basset Hound, when he picks up a scent, I don't think that he'd respond to me holding a T-bone steak! Haha!

Lol oh Bentley, that's hilarious. I don't doubt your love for each other - it doesn't take much for a dog to love his human unconditionally. Mmm, I fancy a T-bone steak now!

V is for Voice - 25 April 2014

Hawkeye BrownDog said: Hi Y'all! My Humans WISH I'd only bark on command! Good trick Bernie! Thanks for visitin'. Y'all come back now, Hawk aka BrownDog

Haha oh dear. My friends Wilf, Toby and Dave are all here during the day (whilst we stay with gran and gramps) and all they do all day is bark! It frightens the life out of me and mum. We're not used to living in a noisy house - we like our peace and quite :)

Rascal and Rocco said: Great performance! And the yodeling dog is adorable, too. Makes me want to go out and get a Frenchie of my own. too cute! Thanks for sharing on the Pet Parade

Maybe mum will just happen to catch me doing my yodeling one day so I can share it with you all. Mum says it's a hilarious sight to see. She watched many a video before she got me - I'm surprised there's not five of us running around her feet by now! She say's she doubts any other Frenchie would be as wonderful as me and therefore doesn't want to get another only to be let down.

W is for Wainwrights - 26 April 2014

Harleo - Adventures of Two Golden Doodles said: There's nothing better than a dog who loves his food, and a that food is good for him! Bon Appetite

I'm a bulldog! I love all things edible! :D I'm very thankful that my mum knows which foods and good and which are not so good for me. She does have to be quite strict with me as I have such a sensitive tummy - another bulldog trait I believe.

M. K. Clinton said: You make me want a French Bulldog so much!!

Haha! We expect to see all our followers with French Bulldog puppies by the end of the year ;)

Thank you to everyone else who left kind comments on our blog! We'd be here all day if we responded to them all! Happy Black and White Sunday!

W is for Wainwrights

Posted on Saturday, 26 April 2014

Oh my goodness! Only a few more posts and we will have completed the Blogging from A to Z Challenge!! Today we have 'W' so we thought, let's do a Wainwrights review!

My mum feeds me Wainwrights! I'm a fussy pup so to keep things interesting, I get a good mixture of both their wet and dry foods.
I tend to get one bowl of dry and one bowl of wet a day - two feeds in total!

Mum has been feeding me their Salmon & Potato kibble since I was a pup! She buys it in the 2kg bags. She switched me straight over to it when I was having trouble adjusting to Eden kibble. The Eden food was too high in protein for me and was causing me to be sick after every meal and in general gave me a terribly upset tummy. Mum chose this particular Wainwrights kibble as she had read that potato can be a little gentler on the tummy than rice. It seems to have worked for me - I was able to keep my food down and my poops righted themselves almost instantly. We really like the ingredients too. Lots of beneficial ingredients in there to keep me in tip-top condition and it tastes really nice too! I do love fish!

Composition:
Salmon 26% Ingredient(s): Salmon Fish Meal (26%), Potato Starch ( 26%), Sorghum (19%), Barley (10%), Rapeseed Oil (7%), Sugar Beet Pulp (6%), Whole Linseed (4%), Alfalfa (1%), Minerals (includes Yucca Extract 200mg.kg, Marigold Meal 50mg/kg, Rosemary Extract 5mg/kg), Seaweed (0.5%)

Price: £7.19

Taste rating:

I've also been having their Turkey & Rice trays since I was little. Mum always buys the box of 12. This used to be mixed in with my dry but now they're given separately as I'm much better at eating everything in my bowl. We love that the ingredients are super simple with nothing unnecessary added. Did I mention and taste and texture are also fab?!

Composition:
Turkey (min.65%), Turkey Liver (min. 5%), Brown Rice (min. 5%), Minerals, Seaweed, Chicory Root.

Price: £9.99

Taste rating:

Mum recently started buying the Tuna with Rice & Veg pouches as a bit of a treat and to keep meal times exciting. These have become my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE! As soon as I see mum take the pouches out the cupboard I start to drool uncontrollably.

Composition:
Tuna (45%) Ingredient(s): Tuna (45%), Rice (4%), Vegetables (including Peas 4% and Carrots 4%), Sunflower Oil, Minerals, Fish Oil (0.1%), Seaweed Extract (0.1%), Chicory Extract (0.01%), Green Tea Extract (0.01%)

Price: £0.65 each

Taste rating:

We can't really review the Duck & Rice kibble fairly as we've only just bought it to try it and it hasn't even been opened yet! Apart from it containing duck and brown rice, the rest of the ingredients are almost identical to the Salmon & Potato kibble. We shall let you know how it goes down ;)

Composition:

Duck 30% Ingredient(s): Brown Rice (38%), Duck (30%) (Duck Meal Meal, Duck Gravy), Barley (14%), Sugar Beet Pulp (8%), Rapeseed Oil (4%), Whole Linseed (3%), Alfalfa (1%), Minerals (includes Yucca Extract 200mg/kg, Marigold Meal 50mg/kg, Rosemary Extract 5mg/kg), Seaweed (0.5%)

Price: £7.19
